Dear Sachin, We have seen such larvae in stool preparation and its difficult to differentiate between Strongylloides and Hook worm. However, in most of the cases it is Strongylloides only and many a times patient is also immunocompromised having hyperinfection. We do find hook worm larvae especially when we have field camp for 15 days for undergraduate first year medical students. During this camp, the whole village is asked to submit stool samples for examination. The village people sometimes forget to collect stool samples at the time of defecation and when the medical student asks for it they go to the fields and collect it at a later time. Usually the hook worm rhabditiform larvae may take up to 48hrs for hatching, but we have seen such larvae along with large number of hook worm eggs.
